1. Introduction

Welcome to Prompt Star. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the Prompt Star mobile application and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

2. Information We Collect

a. Usage Data: We automatically collect information on how you interact with our app. This includes pages visited, time spent in the app, prompts viewed, and category preferences. This data is used to improve our service and user experience.

b. Device Information: We may collect data about your mobile device and internet connection, including the device's unique identifier, IP address, operating system, and browser type.

c. Saved Content: Any prompts you "favorite" or "save" are stored locally on your device or associated with your anonymous user ID in our cloud database to provide you with a personalized experience.

d. Push Notifications & Device Tokens: If you opt-in for push notifications, we collect your unique Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token. This token is a device-specific identifier used solely to deliver push notifications about new prompts, trending categories, and app updates. We do not use this token to track your identity or behavior. You can revoke notification permission at any time via your device settings.

3. Third-Party Services

Prompt Star utilizes several third-party services to provide its functionality. These services have their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase (Firestore & Analytics): Used for data storage, app configuration, and usage analysis.
Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements within the app. AdMob may use device identifiers to show personalized ads.
ImgBB: Used for hosting and serving images associated with prompts.
Expo & Google Play Services: Required for core app functionality on Android devices.

4. Notification Permissions

On Android 13 and above (API level 33+), Prompt Star requests the POST_NOTIFICATIONS runtime permission before sending any push notifications. This permission is requested through an in-app prompt the first time you use the app.

What we send: New prompt alerts, trending category updates, and occasional app announcements.
What we don't send: Marketing spam, third-party offers, or any content unrelated to Prompt Star.
Opt-out: You can disable notifications at any time via Settings → Apps → Prompt Star → Notifications. Revoking permission will stop all push notifications immediately and deactivate your FCM token.

5. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain our app's core features.
To personalize your experience (e.g., showing relevant prompts).
To monitor app performance and fix technical issues.
To serve relevant advertisements through third-party partners.
To notify you about updates or changes to our app.

6. Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, the safety and security of your information also depends on you. We urge you to be careful about pasting copied prompts into unsecured AI tools.

7. Children Under the Age of 13

Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.

8. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' personal information, we will notify you through the App.
